Public Art Installations
Monumental sculpture and public art commissions for civic spaces, urban plazas, and developer projects across India

FormForge designs and fabricates public art installations and monumental sculpture for civic spaces, urban plazas, airports, hotel grounds, and master-planned developments across India. Public art is one of our most demanding categories — pieces are designed to endure decades of weather, public interaction, and viewing from multiple distances and angles.
Every installation is engineered with structural consultants, fabricated to withstand site-specific wind loads and seismic conditions, and installed with civil and lighting coordination. The studio has delivered work for hospitality projects, real estate developments, and institutional commissions across 600 installations.

Frequently asked questions
What size of public art installation can FormForge deliver?
We have delivered public art installations from 10 feet to over 80 feet, engineered with structural consultants for wind loads, seismic conditions, and dead loads appropriate to each site. Scale is not a constraint — engineering is the starting point.
Do you handle structural engineering for monumental sculpture?
Yes. All monumental public art commissions are developed with structural engineers from the design phase. We produce engineering drawings, load calculations, and foundation specifications as part of the commission — not as an add-on.
How do you ensure public art installations withstand weather and time?
Material selection is site-specific: 316 stainless steel for coastal or high-humidity sites, corten for outdoor permanence with minimal maintenance, and bronze for institutional longevity. All outdoor installations include corrosion-resistant welding, sealed joints, and drainage-engineered bases.
Do you work directly with government clients and developers on public commissions?
Yes. FormForge has delivered public art commissions for real estate developers, hospitality groups, and institutional clients. We are familiar with the stakeholder review process — concept presentations, scale models, and engineering documentation for committee approval.
What is the typical timeline for a public art commission?
Public art commissions typically run 6–12 months from brief to installation, depending on scale, engineering complexity, and approval cycles. Concept development, structural design, fabrication, and civil coordination all run sequentially.
Do you provide concept development, renders, and stakeholder presentation material?
Yes. Concept development is part of the commission process — site-response sketches, 3D renders, and scale models for stakeholder review. We can prepare presentation-ready documentation for civic committees, developer boards, or institutional clients.
What is the budget range for public art installations?
Public art installation costs range widely — a smaller interior piece and a monumental outdoor commission sit at very different price points. For reference cost ranges and what drives sculpture pricing, see our sculpture pricing guide.
Can I buy a public art installation directly, or is everything commissioned?
Some smaller works are available as direct purchases through our shop. Most of the studio's output is bespoke — commissioned to a brief, a site, and a scale that can't be stocked. Visit our shop for available works, or start a conversation to commission a piece.
Commission a public art installation
FormForge works on commission only. Briefs from architects, designers, and private clients are reviewed personally by Abhinav Goyal.
